A member of our team of Energy Assessors will rate your home or development in accordance with the national criteria set out by Sustainable Energy Ireland.

This will be done by following standardised procedures using approved calculation methodology.
Issue of a Building Energy Rating Certificate
Once your house or development has been assessed by us we will provide you with a BER Certificate.
A BER Certificate looks much like the rating label that comes with a household electrical appliance.
This is done by using a scale to represent how energy efficient the building is. The BER scale ranges from "A1" (most efficient) to "G" (least efficient).
This will tell you how efficient your house or development is in terms of energy efficiency while also illustrating how much carbon the dwelling will contribute.
Issue of an advisory report
An advisory report accompanies every BER Certificate and will contain recommendations on how to improve the energy performance of your home. You may then choose to implement some or all of the improvements outlined.

The advisory report is a key document and is particularly useful to those who have just purchased an existing dwelling which they plan to renovate. This report will outline how you can gain the full benefit of energy usage in your home.
Can I get an Energy assessment done on my home even if I don't need it by law?
Yes you may get a BER assessment done for your dwelling to ascertain the energy rating it would achieve. The result will not be uploaded onto the national database, therefore you will not get an official BER Certificate for your dwelling.
However, an unofficial BER and advisory report will provide you with some useful information that could in turn be used to save energy consumption of your house resulting in lower energy bills.
How much does this cost?
Accent Building Services will charge between €300 and €350 for a BER. Free when Accent Building Service Ltd are building or designing your building project
